Elevating Leadership: How Women in WOO is Promoting Diversity in Out-of-Home
As we look toward the future of the global Out-of-Home (OOH) industry, technological advancements like Al and programmatic DOOH are reshaping our "what", but we recognise that the most sustainable competitive advantage we have is our "who." For our industry to keep evolving, we must ensure that our leadership reflects the diversity of the audiences we serve.
This is the core mission of Women in WOO.
Mission of Advancement
Our initiative is focused on a singular, clear outcome: advancing more women into senior leadership roles in Out-of-Home (OOH). By concentrating our efforts on women who are already established in their careers and pushing for greater responsibility, we aim to accelerate the transformation of the OOH executive landscape.
Our Work is Structured Around Four Key Pillars
Career Progression into Leadership: Supporting women as they step into senior roles such as Managing Director, C-suite positions, and board memberships, where they can shape the future of the industry.
Access to Networks: Actively creating opportunities for connection and visibility, recognising that many of the most influential networks are built informally and can be difficult to access without intentional intervention.
Practical Development: Equipping women with the tools, confidence, and executive presence required to lead effectively in complex and fast-moving environments.
Long-term Career Planning: Helping participants define clear, actionable pathways for growth, ensuring that ambition is matched with strategy and sustained momentum.
The Catalyst: Our Mentorship Program
The flagship of our initiative is the structured Women in WOO Mentorship Program. This initiative is not just about advice; it is about providing high-potential women with direct access to senior leaders who have successfully navigated the complexities of the industry.
The program focuses on the critical nuances of leadership: navigating transitions, building confidence, and expanding professional networks. Crucially, we believe that diversity is a shared responsibility. That is why our mentor lineup includes both female and male senior leaders, reflecting a united commitment across the industry to cultivate top talent.
Our Journey and Momentum
The momentum behind this has been extraordinary since it was first announced at the WOO Annual Congress in Mexico City in June 2025. Following this launch, we detailed the Mentorship Program at the APAC regional Congress in Seoul in November 2025, with our first cohort officially beginning their six-month journey in February 2026.
Following the launch of the mentorship program, the next key step will be to establish a global community through structured regional initiatives.
As a founding Advisory Board member, I am impressed by the power of this collective. We are not just building a network; we are building the future leadership of Out-of-Home. By empowering women to lead, we ensure that our industry accesses the best talent pool and remains a place of innovation, resonance, and lasting impact.
